Rkatsiteli is an ancient white grape variety native to Georgia, where it has been cultivated for thousands of years. It is one of Georgia's most important indigenous grapes and is also grown in other Eastern European regions. The name means "red stalk" in Georgian, referring to the reddish shoots of the vine.
